Notes: Technically, this 1996 release is not actually by Percy
Faith; producer/conductor Nick Perito uses Faith's original
arrangements, but these are new recordings. The sound quality is
superior to Faith's original '50s and '60s recordings, but purists
might feel a bit disappointed. (Interestingly, Faith's best-known movie
theme, "Theme from A Summer Place," is absent, but then, that PEYTON
PLACE-style soap opera didn't win any awards.) The arrangements are
classic Percy Faith, with his trademark string sound throughout. The
themes, including everything from "Hello Dolly!" to "Manha de Carnaval"
from BLACK ORPHEUS, are smartly chosen.
